Frankston Arts Centre Precinct
In collaboration with Frankston City Council, we have reimagined the Frankston Arts Centre (FAC) forecourt; transforming the forecourt into a welcoming space for lingering moments and every day use through to action-packed event nights!
The FAC is an iconic site within Frankston; being the cultural and artistic hub of the municipality. With a focus on accessibility, the new forecourt becomes an identifiable space for passersby, offers spaces for pause and discovery, and is adaptable for day to nighttime experiences. It is a drawcard in itself for people to go to, to meet and to occupy as a space for everyone.
The concept is split into three key spaces: the main forecourt, providing a space for exhibitions and pop-up installations/gatherings to occur; a secondary forecourt outside The Cube, illuminated by the changing art installations within the building; and a platform below the canopy of the existing Norfolk Island Pines, creating a moment of retreat from city life.
We are excited to continue our collaboration with Frankston City Council and a wide range of sub-consultants to deliver this project. We also would like to acknowledge the team at FFLA, whose initial concept provided the platform and inspiration for the final design.
