Lismore, NSW 2011

Dan was selected as one of fifteen artists from around Australia to partake in the 2011 Splendid Arts Lab. Splendid is partly funded by Splendour in the Grass and the Australia Council for the Arts to enable young and emerging artists to produce work for arts or music festivals.

The lab consisted of a 3 week program in Lismore, NSW, that incorporated workshops with established artists from a range of disciplines including dance, theatre, visual arts and architecture. Participants were taken to the Splendour in the Grass festival where previous Splendid artists were exhibiting installations and given tours of the site to get a better understanding of the inner workings of a festival.

The Splendid Lab created synergistic partnerships between cross-disciplinary artists and fostered an ongoing opportunity for skill-sharing and creative development.
